The Mongol Rally is a charity adventure race organized by the Adventurists. The race is a ton of fun, but the primary point is to raise money for some fantastic charity organizations. This year, the principal charity is Mercy Corps Mongolia. Our second official charity is Hope & Homes for Children. We plan to raise a minimum of £500 (approximately $1,000) for each of these charities.

Teams start on 19 July 2008 in London, Madrid, or Milan, and the finish line is in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Our team will be starting in Madrid. To make the adventure more adventurous, teams may only use vehicles with an engine displacement of 1 liter or less. Mini Coopers and Volkswagon Beetles, by comparison, both have engines with over 1 liter of displacement.
Distance: 8,000-10,000 miles
Time: 3-4 weeks
Countries visited along the way: Spain, France, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia
