after the 4 day ferry crossing caspian sea and an epic day getting through the boarder we made it into turkmenistan. With not enough cash to pay for the document to get the car into the contry we set off in a taxi to find cash. To cut a long story short, I (rick 5ft4) ended up wearing some trowsers borrowed off the taxi man (6ft5) so that i was aloud in the bank. Aparently a midget in clown trowers is exeptible in a bank but shorts are denied entery?

We made good ground through turkmenistan and uzbecistan although we did get stopped for "speeding" several times. however, after some friendly chat and them realising that we weren't going to give them any money, we were soon one are way.The car has a seriuos engine proplem that we can't seem to fix which is slowing us down some what but we have still made it to almaty in Kazakstan.

Two days ago the roof rack got rattled to bits again, so we now have it strapped on with some cushions we purchased from a local market. Some more of the exhaust fell off and somewhere near the back of the car a horrid grinding noise has developed. Other than that all is good.

We stopped at a petrol station this morning and some guy asked us if we need a shower so guessing we looked pretty scabby!! after having a lunch with him and his wife they let us use their sauna and shower!!

ment some other ralliers and the spares shop hunting for bit for their car so we will probable limp on with them.
