The Finish Line....... nearly

As we finished almost a week ago now this will be the final blog.

We stayed with our convoy as far as Altai where, after a day driving in the wrong direction the Top Gun Mighty Uno gave up the ghost. After a tow back to the town we decided we would have to go our own way for the sake of time so we set off alone the next morning. We had a great day, despite missing our convoy and got 300km under our belts fairly quickly. However, at about 4pm we did a river crossing and 10 miles beyond this Arthur lost all power and just... stopped.

We luckily picked up a tow to Bayanhongor and stayed the night there. However, the next morning a dropped valve was diagnosed something we had neither the time nor the parts to be able to fix. Sadly we handed over Arthur to the local representative a mere 400 miles from the finish line. We finished in style, cramped into the 14 seater minibus with 21 other people! A 23 hour experienve never to forget.

So we are now in Ulan Bataar having had the experience of a lifetime and met some amazing people. We are sad and disappointed not to have finished in Arthur but the people we have met and the experienves we have had surpass that and we wouldn't have had it any other way.

Off to Beijing tomorrow for more adventures!
