Ania, Rafal and Michal, we wanted to have helluva adventure. We scratched our heads for some time and finally stumbled upon the Mongol Rally. Looked interesting. Some additional digging revealed more details : the trip, the (lack of) rules, the charities. We were hooked. Luckily, we have secured a place in the 2008 edition so July 19th the Adventure begins.
Probably right now you wonder what is this above all about. The Mongol Rally is the race from London, England, to Ulaanbataar, Mongolia. No fixed route, no support. Pure fun. Especially given that participating cars are limited to small and old ones. And all this with a goal to help by collecting money for charities.
The Mongol Rally is much about charity and help to the people in Central Asia and Eastern Europe. Please support us: see our fundraising site.

Ok, we made it. Last thursday we have arrived to UB after 26 days or so of journey. Unfortunately, like 20-something other teams that have chosen the northern crossing our car was stopped at the border and we had to make last 300km without it. What a shame after having done about 16k km. But still we are more than happy as only half of team have managed so far. I will put a bit more detailed description with some (of more than 1200) photos in a day or two so all of you can have at least a little feeling of what we have experienced over last four weeks. Thanks for all your support (but don't stop now, there are still few pounds/euro/usd that you may donate to the right cause) Michal |
