This team has not yet uploaded an introduction photo... coming soon! Made it into Mongolia.

It seems like the time trials are now over and the adventure playground has arrived. Nearly burned Pauline's clutch out on the 3000m "hill" just inside the border. Solidified Yak's milk as present from local family for getting to top. All they seemed interested in though was how much clearance we had under the car. We gave them PG Tips in exchange.

Ben getting Sump guard belatedly fitted. Loving the Mongol bit so far. Truly great scenery accompanied by lightning and snow dusting the hills. Views for MILES. Just the 1720 Kms to go!

We are in UB. We have left Pauline in a windswept graveyard town a mere 450 kms from UB and 23kms from pure beautiful sweet tarmac.

Been absolutely great. Thanks to all the people who have helped us. Thanks to Pauline for giving her all, but to be honest the list of things that managed to go wrong in the end is rather silly and some blame should be taken I feel. We fixed the 'engine falling out of the chassy' problem, along with the brake fluid leaks, radiator leaks, radiator overheating, spark plug replacements, dirty fuel drainage, exhaust falling off, exhaust leaking at engine, boot lock failure, fuel pump electrics, 8 welds in the rear suspension springs, and cleaned the blocked fuel filter.

We were left without a functioning fuel injection system - mainly due to the dirty fuel which was coca cola coloured, probably a severely leaking 3rd piston valve which left us with no engine compression, or a "crank shaft sensor' amlfunction - like I know what that is. Neither could we work the lock on the driver side, the air filter was black with oil, the sump slightly leaked, and the battery was not only dead - but it would kill any other battery that came within contact with it due to the melted leads to the driving lights shorting the circuit.  Towing ripped the sump guard off for a second time.

So, we really did well, and were confronted by some amazingly bad luck in the end. The only reason we didn't cruise it!

Next stop Irkutsk on the Trans Siberian!
