It is now just 2 more sleeps until we set off - first destination London. We have full confidence the car will get us to London in time for the official launch from Hyde Park.

Thae car is packed and sitting low but not as low as we thought it would be. All our gear is packed in nicely which is starting to make me worry that we have forgotten something that will be crucial when we hit Russia and beyond.

Our aim is to get to the Ukraine/Russia border in 1 week then to reach the Russian/Monglian border 10 days later and finally 5 or 6 days through Mongolia. These timescales have been very accurately calculated using a world map and my thumb. My thumb measures about the same as 300 miles so if we do at least this many miles everyday we will be in Ulan Bator in no time.
