Here we are in UB we have finally made it and finished the Mongol Rally. We're a bit later than most teams that have completed it but by the sounds of it as has been one of the most eventful journeys. We have hit 18 countries, travelled 9540 miles, meet with ambassadors, ministers, been thretened with deportation, had a spell as illegal immigrants, rebuilt our whole engine on the side of the road...... twice and spent the last week shift driving 24/7 across Kazakhstan, Russia and Mongolia with 4 people in a Fiat Panda. We've had one person driving with the rest trying to sleep but at times all four of us were asleep. Sorry my blogs have been few and far between on the trip but with all the issues we have had we just havent had time to search out the internet, so I have tried to keep you updated through the SMS. Thanks again for everyones support and I'm not using hyperbole when I say it has been the experience of a life time. I'm looking forward to boring people with my anicdotes when get back as always. Hopefully Tommy and I will be heading back on the train but off to sort that out now. Goodbye and sponsorship is still welcome on the willwemakeitwebsite. |
